Personal details: Ex-con with a habit of snogging her daughter's boyfriends and a money grabber who jilted Rodney Blackstock at the altar for not being rich. After losing her daughter in a storm, she accidentally crippled her dad and then, whoops, accidentally killed his girlfriend too!

Great personality? Mad as cheese, scary as hell and completely mercenary. You wouldn't want to meet her down a dark alley, given her ability to cause 'accidents'.

Typical line: "There's nothing to worry about love. Leave everything to me."

Bob Hope

Bob Hope: played by Tony Audenshaw

Personal details: Married several times - twice to current wife, Viv Windsor, whose jealousy paved the way for a rocky relationship. Bob has also had to cope with his brother defrauding half the village, his daughter marrying his best friend and then losing her in the show home explosion for which he is now seeking revenge.

Great personality? Harmless, slightly dim-witted and bumbling salesman with a big heart and a mad, gossip-hungry wife. He's recently been neglecting Viv as he plots revenge against Tom King, who he holds responsible for Dawn's death.

Typical line: "You’re doing what with my daughter?"
