Personal details: Married, divorced, married again. In fact Pat has ploughed her way through several hubbies and lovers and left 'em all wanting more. Currently working in the Walford bookies, she’s single and looking for love. Only tough guys need apply.

Great personality? Hard-as-nails Pat has been around the block and then some, usually while wearing gravity-defying earrings and a suitably over the top fur coat but she's one of life's survivors and is always there to lend a sympathetic ear.

Personal details: 'Enders hard man who's done time, grafted hard and filled in Ian Beale on more than one occasion. Romance? Don't ask! Phil married ex-copper Kate after she was assigned to ensnare him. He was in love with Lisa Fowler until she shot him! And he drove wife Kathy Mitchell all the way to South Africa with his rampant alcoholism.

Great personality? He'll do anyfink for his family, criminal or otherwise. So what if he's handled a few dodgy £20 notes and second hand cars with no log books? Who hasn't? An EastEnd entrepreneur from the old school.

Typical line: (In breathy, barely audible voice) "Do I look like I care, mate?"

Sonia Fowler: played by Natalie Cassidy

Personal details: Sonia was all set for a happy ever after with Jamie Mitchell until Martin Fowler accidentally ran him over. Careless, really. Sonia left Martin to move in with Naomi in one of those shocking ‘Enders storylines.

Great personality? Sonia's had to grow up fast. .Fiercely loyal and not afraid to stand up to bullies, she's the only one in her family with her head screwed on.

Typical line: "Some fings are meant to be."
