Virgin Media donned its comfiest hiking boots and journeyed to Kluane National Park in the remote and beautiful Yukon Territory in Canada's northwest corner.
This is Canada exactly the way many a UK adventure seeker would hope to experience it. Tall trees, even taller mountains, aquamarine lakes that seem to go on forever and a line-up of exotic animals (bears, eagles, elk) combine to make up the exact sort of picture-perfect landscapes you came to this massive country to find. The air couldn't be fresher and you'll share this natural wonderland with very few others; if you pass more than a few cars in five minutes of driving through the Yukon, that counts as a traffic jam.
As well as that quintessential lakes'n'mountains look, the Yukon also offers an abundance of more rugged environments. Tundra and icefields lead on to glaciers and remote, chilly bays dotted with icebergs. There's also Mount Logan, the highest peak in Canada. Photographers will want a very wide lens to capture the Yukon's spellbinding scenery, free-roaming wildlife and big, big skies.
Tempted? Here's why you should head for the Yukon Territory at the earliest opportunity...
