ntl and Telewest announced today the completion of their merger, creating the UK's largest consumer broadband company and leading triple play service provider. The conclusion of this transaction follows approval by the shareholders of both companies.
Today's merger represents great news for customers. It creates a new force in the communications market, with the scale and resources to fully exploit the unique capabilities of cable. The new company will be able to accelerate the development of next generation services, while maintaining the programme of ongoing improvements to existing products and customer services.
No change to your services
For now, it's business as usual. There is no change to existing products and services. There are also no changes to contracts or contacts. Both companies continue to operate as normal, under the existing names. As a customer of ntl you continue to be a customer of ntl.
What happens next?
We are committed to ensuring that customers get maximum benefit from the merger, but this will not be achieved overnight. Completion marks the start of a wide-ranging integration process. We will communicate frequently and openly throughout the process.
