Another of the stadia used - under its former name the Niedersachsenstadion - in the 1974 Finals, the AWD Arena has been reconstructed for 64million euros.
Able to house 50,000 spectators for Bundesliga matches, the arena has housed top-flight side Hannover since 1959, five years after it was first built.
An eye-catching stadium, reconstruction work was finished within 18 months - well ahead of schedule.
