The Leg Break

The technique
Grip the ball with index, middle and third finger spread evenly across the seam, as pictured, with the index finger close to, or touching your thumb.

On releasing the ball out of the back of your hand, use a combination of anti-clockwise wrist movement and straightening of the fingers to give the ball a good 'rip' with the back of you hand finishes facing towards the ground.
Magic Moment
Warne's 'ball of the century' to Mike Gatting: 1st test match, Old Trafford, 1993
This was the moment that signalled the 're-birth' of leg-spin bowling. Warne, bowling his first ever ball in an Ashes test, sent down a looping, fizzing leg break that pitched just outside leg stump to turn past the bat of a bewildered and open mouthed Gatting to flick the top of the off stump. Dubbed the 'ball of the century', it prompted Graham Gooch to remark that Gatting looked like he'd had his lunch stolen!
