Congratulations to Usher Raymond and new wife Tameka who have just given birth to their first child together. The baby boy, arrived on Monday 26th November in Atlanta weighing in at a healthy seven pounds and nine ounces. This will be Usher's first child and Tameka's fourth.

Confessions

The couple's relationship up until this point has been less than plain sailing. Controversy began when tabloids made inaccurate calculations on the conception dates and decided that Usher couldn't be the father. Despite the couple's protests, it was concluded that Tameka's ex-husband Ryan Glover was the main suspect. The couple set the record straight by confirming when the baby was due.

Tameka expressed her joy at the pregnancy saying that they had always planned to have children and wanted to "share that bond of bringing another life into this world".

Doing a 'U-Turn'

After planning a huge, extravagant wedding in summer, (which included a hefty $10,000 on invites alone) the event was cancelled hours before the ceremony.

Rumour had it that the cancellation was caused by Usher, a self-confessed mummy's boy, after deciding he couldn't get married without his mother's blessing. However Tameka since announced that there were complications with her pregnancy which caused them to postpone their big day.

The couple then settled with a very quiet civil ceremony in a friend's house, with only family present. Those miffed by the usually extravagant couple's low-key wedding were soon put straight when the pair announced they were to host a second wedding.

In a more characteristic affair, the follow-up wedding had two hundred guests, including Mariah Carey, who enjoyed a 16th-century-style winery Chateau Elan plus a five-tiered white chocolate cake created by the same people who made Eva Longoria's wedding grub.

We aint saying she's a gold digger...

The marriage is unlikely to impress Usher's fans who have labeled Tameka a cheat, gold digger, criminal and publicity hound.

Tameka was also rumoured to be reluctant to sign a pre-nup and on top of that has a criminal record, so it's not hard to see where they're coming from. His mum doesn't seem to be too much of a fan either, and expressed her disapproval by simply not showing up.

None of it matters to Usher though; he says he has "found someone who I am very, very happy to call my wife". The R&B star has had his wish for a baby boy granted and is planning to make him the fourth boy in the Raymond household to be named Usher.
