Nicole Kidman can ditch the suspiciously baggy tops and "no comment" responses as she has confirmed to the anxiously waiting world that she is indeed pregnant.

Unsurprisingly, Nicole's rep has said that she and country singer husband Keith Urban "are thrilled" especially as the 41-year-old's previous attempts at conceiving a child have been unsuccessful.

Nicole's attempts at bearing a child with previous husband Tom Cruise were in vain when Nicole sadly suffered an ectopic pregnancy which occurs when the egg remains in the fallopian tubes rather than the uterus. The pair decided to adopt instead and brought up Isabella and Conor - who are now teenagers - as their own.

This time around, The Golden Compass star is taking no chances and is taking a well deserved break from the Hollywood lights in order to put her feet up and concentrate on having a healthy pregnancy. She's already pulled-out form her role in post World-War Two film The Reader which was due to start filming in February and won't be accepting any new roles for the foreseeable future.

After Nicole's 11-year marriage to Tom surprisingly ended in 2001 due to "career conflicts", she met her second husband-to-be at an Australian government bash and they were married 18 months later. Keith's obviously smitten with his new wife as he presented her with a $200,000 gift of a first edition of book Wuthering Heights as her wedding present. Not a bad gift to give one of the highest paid actresses in Hollywood. The happy couple then jetted off to Tahiti for their honeymoon.
