Pop star Christina Aguilera has given birth to her first child, Max Liron, on 12th January 2008.
The baby was born at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles weighing 6lb 2oz, just hours after Nicole Richie gave birth in the same maternity ward. Christina and husband Jordan described him as "a beautiful, healthy baby boy".
Let's take a look back at her pregnancy and her relationship with Jordan Bratman, the man she descibed as "so supportive and amazing" to Glamour magazine.
It was on the tour for her acclaimed Back To Basics album that Christina discovered she was pregnant.
With the tour over and the bump starting to show, pop tartlet Christina started keeping a low profile and wearing clothes that disguised her condition, but the clues slowly slipped out.
Firstly, Christina's usual washboard stomach started to show a distinct curve, and not the kind you get after a bowl of pasta. Then her estranged dad let it slip that he was "so excited" about becoming a granddad.
Adding to the speculation, her rep refused to comment on the rumours, which in the land of the famous is as good as announcing that she's at the clinic right now having an ultrasound scan.
Christina added fuel to the rumours by saying she wants a "bilingual child" and taking language tapes with her whilst on tour. She was also quoted saying "I can't wait to begin a family". Hmmm.
The singer met hubby Jordan Bratman whilst he was working at her management company, they then dated for two years before secretly marrying in November 2005.
Since meeting the love of her life, it's become safer to turn on MTV as the sweaty, gyrating Christina has been replaced by a less saucy and more sophisticated version. She's also hit an artistic peak - her post-marriage album Back To Basics was received with a massive thumbs up by critics and fans alike.
Christina and Jordan's relationship has always been a mystery wrapped in an enigma. Pictures of the pair are scarce and, un-typical of the average fame academy member, there was no lavish magazine deal or sponsorship of the wedding. They really have secrecy down to a fine art, hence the tight lips on the pregnancy.
We sense the couple are enjoying a healthy, balanced relationship. She has been known to talk fondly of her "naked Sundays" where the couple do everything around the house in the buff, and recently stated that "We both take a leg of the proverbial trousers".
Christina's not letting a little thing like a baby get in the way of doing what she does best. She has made it clear that she wants to be a working mum and seems to be planning more than ever for the coming year, with talks of a Christina perfume, a part in a Rolling Stones film and a new album in the making.
With the recent fall of other pop starlets within her generation (not naming any names) we could be looking at Aguilera domination!
