Ashlee Simpson and Pete Wentz finally confirmed that they are expecting their first child, after weeks of rumours, on 28th May.
"While many have speculated about this, we wanted to wait until after the first trimester to officially confirm that we are expecting our first child," the couple wrote on Pete's website friendsorenemies.com. "This is truly the most joyous time in our lives and we are excited to share the happy news and start our family."
People.com also reports that soon after the couple tied the knot in Los Angeles on May 17, Ashlee admitted she wanted a large family.
"I would love to have a big family one day," the 23-year-old singer told the website, while her new husband, of band Fall Out Boy, added that he wanted "a soccer team or a band."
Ashlee has also confirmed that she has changed her name to Ashlee Wentz but will be known by Ashlee Simpson-Wentz professionally.
The couple married just 11 days before the announcement, and to mark the occasion Pete gave Ashlee an unusual gift - a giant bumblebee made from 18,000 lego bricks! They started dating back in 2006.
