Remote types 5 & 6

These remote types can be programmed to control your TV Volume. Simply follow the instructions shown below. You’ll need to download a list of codes by clicking here.

Instructions:

To set volume control on your remote, please download the code list, find your make of TV and the codes that match it and then follow the following instructions. There may be multiple codes shown for your make of TV. If so, you may need to try more than one code before your remote is successfully re-programmed. You may find additional codes using the HELP and INFO pages on your Virgin Set-Top Box (Option 9) and selecting HELP WITH YOUR REMOTE CONTROL (Option 7)

Now that you have your three digit code, add a 0 (zero) before it. This now makes a four digit code.

Press and hold down the 'Vol +' and 'Mute' keys on your remote at the same time for at least three seconds, until the green light at the top right-hand corner of your remote control flashes twice.

Release the buttons and enter the first four digits from the list of remote control codes (you must do this within 10 seconds of the green light flashing).

As you enter the first three digits the green light on your remote control will give a short blink.

As you enter the fourth digit, the green light will flash twice to confirm that the volume is set.

If the setting of the volume is not successful, please repeat the above steps with the second/third/fourth etc codes from the table.

If the volume control is still not working after trying the codes for your TV model, or your TV is not listed, then your TV isn’t currently compatible with our remote control.

You should be able to use code 0683 to set the remote to control your V Box volume.
