If your email address ends in @virginmedia.com, click here. To set up Mail for Mac OS X 10.5 for your @virgin.net email address, do the following:
- Start up Mail.
- From the Mail menu, select Preferences.
- From the icons along the top of the screen, select Accounts. The following window opens:

Note: The example above shows a completed account; the first time you open this screen, there won't be any account information displayed. - Click on the Plus sign in the bottom left corner, as shown above. The following window opens:

- Type in your Full Name. This is the name you want people to see in the From column when they receive mail from you.
- In the Email Address text box, type in your.name@virgin.net (where your.name is the first part of your email address).
- Type in your Virgin Media Password, and click on Continue. The following screen opens:

- Set your Account Type to POP.
- In the Description text box, type Virgin Media.
- In the Incoming Mail Server text box, type in pop.virgin.net.
- In the User Name text box, type in your.name@virgin.net (where your.name is the first part of your email address).
- Type in your Virgin Media Password, and click on Continue. The following screen opens:

- In the Description text box, type Virgin Media.
- In the Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP) drop-down list, type in smtp.virgin.net.
- Leave the Use Authentication check box blank (that is with no tick in it).
- In the User Name and Password text boxes, type in your email address and password, and click on Continue. A summary screen opens showing the details of your email account. Click on Continue to return to the Accounts window.
- Click on the Advanced tab. The following screen displays:

- Make sure that the Remove copy from server after receiving a message check box is ticked, as shown above.
- Close the window (by clicking on the red circle at the top-left).
That's it! Your email address is set up, and ready for use in Mail for Mac.
