The IP addresses you can expect to see when connected to Virgin Media are as follows:
- If the first number in the address is 62, 80, 81, 82, 86, 213, or if it’s 192 (and you are using a router), then this is a valid Virgin Media IP address, and you should be able to connect to the Internet.
- If the first number in the address is 172 or 10, this is a private IP address that has been assigned to the modem. It’s unlikely that you’ll be able to connect to the Internet with this address.
- If the first number in the address is 169, this lets you know that your computer hasn’t been able to contact the DHCP server on the network. You won’t be able to use the Internet or email with this IP address.
