Error 678 – There is no answer
Error 718 – PPP Timeout
Here are the steps you can take to try and resolve this error.
- Check the phone for a dial-tone. If there is no dial-tone there might be a fault with your normal telephone service. Contact your telephone service provider.
- If you can hear a dial-tone, in Windows, double-click on Start.
- Double-click on Control Panel.
- Double click on Network Connections. You should now see an icon for your connection.
- Right click on this and select Delete.
If you have a Speedtouch modem, uninstall and reinstall the modem.
- Enter your username and password, and try to connect.
- If you still can’t connect, check the service status page to see if there any reported faults:
- If no faults are reported, contact us.
