If you are an advanced user comfortable with using Windows DOS commands, you can refresh your computer’s TCP/IP component using the netsh command. TCP/IP (Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol) is used to send data between computers, however it can become damaged.
Unfortunately this method does not work on other operating systems.
To run this utility:
- Click on Start and select Run.
- In the Run window, type cmd and click OK
- Type in the command netsh int ip reset c:log.txt, where c:log.txt is the location and name of the log file where actions taken by the netsh program are recorded.

You can substitute your own preferred log file name for c:log.txt, if required.
