Scientific Atlanta WebSTAR modem lights

There are four lights on the WebSTAR DPX100 and DPX110 – Power, PC, Data and Cable. The Data light is called Status on the DPX110.

There are five lights on the WebSTAR EPC2100 - Power, PC, Send, Receive and Cable

Check each of the lights in turn to make sure it does not indicate a problem.

Power

The Power light should stay lit to indicate power to your WebSTAR cable modem.

If the Power light fails to stay lit, unplug the cable modem from the electrical supply and plug it into a different socket.

If the Power light remains unlit, please call Virgin Media technical support who’ll help you get to the bottom of it with some more tests.

PC

The PC light lets you know that there’s a connection between the cable modem and your computer.

If the PC light is not lit, this means that it is not possible to pass data to and from your computer - make sure that the lead connecting your cable modem to your computer is connected and secure.

Data, or Status, or Send and Receive

On the DPX100 - the Data light flashes to indicate when data is being sent and received by your computer.

On the DPX110 - the Status light flashes to indicate when data is being sent and received by your computer.

On the EPC2100 - The Receive and Send lights flash whilst the WebSTAR is searching for a connection to the Internet, and go solid once the cable modem has 'locked on'.

Cable

The Cable light flashes whilst the WebSTAR is searching for a connection to the Internet, and goes solid once the cable modem has 'locked on' to the network.

If this light does not stay solid after several minutes, we’ll need to send an engineer to investigate. To arrange this, please call the Virgin Media technical support line.
