In 2005, real life spilled over into the gaming world after a young girl in China died following several consecutive days of World Of Warcraft playing. Out of respect, an online funeral service was actually held by fellow WoW gamers.

The Piss-Screen
A game in Germany has been devised to test how drunk you are. Only thing is, you play it with your wee. The Piss-Screen was devised to help reduce the number of drunk-drivers on the road and has been placed above urinals in pubs. While urinating, you play a driving game and move the car with the direction of your urine. Crash the car and the game suggests you're too drunk to drive and should order a cab!

The rubbish E.T. game
In 1982, Atari found itself in the doldrums after much-trumpeted new console games Pacman and E.T. completely flopped. Both games were badly designed and boring to play so the company found itself with 10 million Pacman and E.T. cartridges and no one to sell them to. Their solution: 14 truckloads of merchandise were dumped at a landfill site in New Mexico, flattened by steamrollers and covered over with a concrete slab.
