You can sell practically anything on eBay and helpfully they make it easy.
In short, you just fill in a short form with the product details and postage costs, then upload a picture of your item. But if you've not sold on eBay before, there are a couple of things to do before you start.
You need to enter the usual details (name, address, telephone number), which eBay will then verify. The two main ways they do this are:
Verification by phone: Enter your land-line phone number and eBay (well, one of their computers) will call you with a code. Enter this to continue registration.
Verification by credit card: You enter your credit or debit card details, and eBay checks with your bank that your registration details tally.
You will also have to enter some bank or card details so they can eventually take their commission. All your card details are encrypted to make the process safe.
PayPal take payments by credit or debit card on your behalf, taking a small commission on each sale. Any money you make can then be easily transferred into your bank account.
As a brand new seller, PayPal is the only way you can receive payments, so you need to set up an account with them. A "Personal Account" will be adequate if you only want to sell a few things. If you become a regular seller, you'll need a "Premier Account".
